It
is said you see most intensely by candlelight, because that is all you
see,
Five kilometres has bought parks, rivers and urban icons once unadmired,
into focus.
It has bought family closeness, smiles, and very happy pets.
Five kilometres however is laced through with sadness,
Hearts unfooled sense the grounding, know the difference of walking with
unseen boundaries.
Steps once accustomed to the promise of journeys beginnings, become mere
pacing.
Fatigued to tired, …lives are lived worn.
