I
thank my God in heaven we won the war,
and the next,
and the next,
and the next,
flawed ideologies overtaken,
downtrodden lands, annexed,
and we won the next one,
and the one after as well,
as good guys we somehow always win,
history will tell.
I
shudder to think of losing,
of the darkness it would entail,
of the compromise in society,
should we ever fail…. |
