They Never Leave You
11th May 2022

That time I said the wrong thing,
got the wrong end of a conversation,
I looked the wrong way,
or misread the situation.

Angels bringing grace in my life,
they simply come and go,
awkward events hang around like biting imps however,
wrestling to and fro.

They lodge deep down in my being,
to be bought back for future review,
arising in the quiet moments,, seems they never leave you.

I am getting scared to post that photo,
or to comment on that meme,
lest I go to the grave dwelling on them,
my conscience, too extreme.

Prompt: they never leave you.

Monks, Hong Kong.
