Torres del Paine, Patagonia, Chile...
22 March, 2000.
|...Rained the whole night last night. Mud and mist in the forest, place felt like a starwars camp of wookies; very homely and comforting!
Ed the American (who must be 70 years old), explained to us in an American drawl looking sideways, that his tent 'was designed for altitude, not wet nights in Patagonia'! But it's ok he said, 'I have a goretex bag cover so I was pretty all right'. His stuff is going to be heavy.
Carlos, our Chilean friend was having problems with his knees. 'I like speaking to Ed' he said, 'I say only few words and he speak to me for long time, I no understand, but nice'.
Day 7 into the trek, seems we're quite the little family!...
